Bank Holiday Weekend Sale with special guests, The Woodee (26-28 August 2017)

Across the whole of the Bank Holiday weekend we had a '20% off all plants' sale which proved very popular and resulted in a very busy weekend. On the Monday we hosted an Open Day for The Woodee team who brought along their beautiful fire pits, tools and accessories. As well as cooking demonstrations from The Woodee, we had a couple of talks; one on roses and another on how to plant a tree. As you can see from the photo below, we had a fab turnout with over 50 people here (and a very full car park) during the morning's cooking demonstration.

THE WOODEE COOKING DEMONSTRATION

At 11.30 the Woodee team talked us through their products and the thinking behind them and then started cooking. They cooked pork belly, veggie kebabs, The Woodee burger, sausages, mushrooms with pesto sauce, baked potatoes, popcorn and bananas; the marinated pork belly was amazing!

ALL ABOUT ROSES

Just before the Woodee cooking demo at 11, Michele gave a talk on roses. She covered off topics such as where to place roses, routine care, dead heading, planting and the basic principles of pruning.

THE WOODEE FIRE PITS

We had 4 fire pits burning throughout the day; one 400mm model, 2 600mm pits and one enormous 900mm pit. We loaded the fire pits up with kiln dried kindling and logs from Certainly Wood and lit them with their fabulous Flamers made from wood shavings dipped in wax.
